Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh is known for having one of India’s highest
densities of Bengal tigers. Its mix of dense sal forest, tall grasslands and rocky hill
terrains provides excellent habitat for predators and prey. The reserve supports a rich prey
base such as chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boar and occasional gaur—helping sustain strong
tiger and leopard populations.
Bandhavgarh’s tourism zones Tala, Magadhi and Khitauli offer different habitats and viewing
opportunities. Tala Gate is the most iconic and closest to the main tourist hub of Tala
village, while Magadhi and Khitauli form adjoining sections of the reserve. Together, they
make Bandhavgarh incredibly rewarding for safari lovers seeking big cat sightings.
